In November of 2009 my father was in the best shape of his life. He was mountain biking hard, and skiing even harder. Then, a short month later in December of 2009, my father was diagnosed with Leukemia. By June 2010 we recieved the final diagnosis of a very rare and aggressive form of the disease called Donovo-PLL. The doctors were giving my father a 2-year lifespan if he went untreated so it became apparent that we had to act immediately. The treatment option was to undergo 4 rounds of chemotherapy and ultimately undergo a stem-cell transplant. My father’s life, and our family’s life, would never be the same..

My father is still recovering from the transplant, but he gains strength everyday, and is closer and closer to being off of his meds. He is back to riding his bike (though a bit more casually) and skiing. We skied together for the first time in 3 years this November 2012. If my dad got this disease 10 years ago, I don’t know if he would be alive today. Because of causes like V FOUNDATION, cancer research is progressing rapidly, but it’s not fast enough. The more resources we provide for this research, the more we can ensure that fewer people will suffer from this disease in the future.

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. Anything that you can offer is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks for your support.
