I am sitting in the Red Carpet Club in Chicago, I’ll be here for the next 4 hours. I am on my way to Colorado to start my winter season. The last 3 weeks were spent in Connecticut with my family. My dad was admitted to the hospital on November 12th. He needed a stem cell transplant to treat his Leukemia and there were a number of logistical items that my mom needed help with to prepare their new home for his return. Sounds silly, but this is an interview that I did with Grace Mauzy who has been running (yes, literally) in an effort to raise money for the Women’s Sports Foundation. In December 2009, my father was diagnosed with Leukemia.  It wasn’t until June 2010 that we learned that he had an extremely rare and very aggressive form of Leukemia called Denovo-PLL.  If you were to try to google it, very little would come up in the search results.  The only treatment option was to undergo Chemo immediately and have a stem-cell transplant (formerly known as a bone marrow transplant).
