Perfection
I recently read a blog, “Zen Habits,” that was conveying the concept that we are perfect as we are. This notion is always a strange one for me to digest because everything I do is with the intention of improving some part of my life (skiing), whether it is mental or physical. Survival in our sport is all about perfection, striving for bigger and better tricks. So how do we implement these thoughts into that life? Last season I found a balance between thinking “I’m perfect as I am” and thinking “I need to be better.” I suppose my mantra [...]
Competition
I just got back from Aspen for the 6th annual “Meeting.” The weekend was full of ski and snowboard movie premiers, sunshine, biking, and some discussion panels- my favorite part. The topics this year were quite though provoking: Social Marketing, Olympic Dream, and Content Distribution. I ended up with a brain full of thoughts and I’m struggling to find a place to put them all. Moving from concept to action is the hardest part. But there’s one concept that I had that doesn’t require action… just thought. Someone mentioned that Shaun White needs to have more fun. That he has [...]
DEW TOUR SLC!
The Dew Tour just wrapped up last weekend in Salt Lake City. It was the 4th stop of the 5 stop tour and boy was it fun to watch. It’s really strange showing up to an action sports event that I’m not competing in. Especially one at which no girls are competing. The assumption if you are female is that you’re a groupie. It was certainly a test to my ego to deal with the fact that very few people knew nor cared who I was. Regardless it was a great time. I actually met up with the VP of [...]
Hello world!
Life is a gift. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Don’t let yourself forget. And remind others that this is the case. We were all given an opportunity on this earth to see what we can do with it. How much can we love? How much can we suffer and endure? How much can we give back? This could be a one shot deal, so why not make the most of it. Remember, in the words of T.S.Eliot “only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.” All for now. Sweet dreams.
